In this course, you’ll develop an understanding of the mindset required to think creatively about solutions to complex problems—you know—the problems we’re all facing right now. You’ll gain a practical understanding of design thinking as a process to navigate human-centered problem solving.

1. Creative Collaboration
Learn simple techniques that allow you to explore more ideas, bring out the best thinking in a group setting, explore the key principles of collaborative creativity, and create the conditions for real innovation.
2. Interactive Workshop: Learn Design Thinking
A practical, hands-on session where participants learn a repeatable process to apply design thinking methods and techniques. Learn how to use empathy to ask better questions, create ideas to enhance a service experience, and how to bring ideas to life quickly through prototypes.
Your first assignment brings together the concepts you’ve learnt and are applied to a classic logic problem. How might you flex your creativity and find new solutions? You’ll finish the course with an assignment that will help you apply the learning and get feedback from peers.

Joining a peer-led learning group will provide an opportunity to share your assignment and get feedback from others in the group.
By the end of this course, you will be able to apply new design thinking skills to develop solutions in human-centered ways. You will be able to immediately apply a design thinking process to your next project or problem.

How you'll learn
Live Online Instruction
The course is split into two, three-hour calls with other learners from all over the world and led by Overlap instructors.
Throughout the modules there are opportunities to practice skills and apply concepts.
You’ll be able to join peers to share and discuss what you’re learning to gain greater understanding and deepen the impact.
Learning design is more than technical skills—it’s about the way your worldview is changing and your approach to problem solving. Multiple moments of reflection are designed into the course.
